Celebrate 200: Launching Our Third Century
On March 31, join your fellow McGillians online for a Bicentennial birthday bash hosted by Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, MDCM’18, famed Super Bowl champion and frontline healthcare worker, and Heleena De Oliveira, BA’21, President of the Black Students’ Network of McGill. This interactive event exploring McGill’s past, present and future will feature musical performances from Beatrice Deer, Chilly Gonzales, BMus’94, and Schulich School of Music students.
Principal’s Bicentennial message to the community
Principal Suzanne Fortier recently shared her thoughts on the Bicentennial in a special message to McGillians. Acknowledging the unusual timing of this milestone, the Principal reflected on how the pandemic has been a reminder of our collective strength and has pushed us to reimagine what we can achieve in our third century.

A roadmap for greater food security and autonomy
The University is hosting a series of Bicentennial events on the global challenges McGill will be tackling in its third century. Kicking off the series on March 31 is a conference on how we can strengthen food security and autonomy in the wake of the pandemic, featuring experts from the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, as well as leaders from government, industry and the non-profit sector.
