I’d always enjoyed visiting Montreal as a tourist; I moved here in the hopes that I’d find a job and get the chance to stay a while. I ended up working at McGill, and it’s the only employer I’ve ever had here.
A lot of my Montreal experiences have been shaped by McGill. I’ve made friends at the University, learned a lot about its history, and I even lived in the student ghetto for a short stint.
I’ve had the chance to interview alumni, professors and administrators, but everyone's here because of the students. Those I’ve met are hard-working, down-to-earth, and so smart. A lot of them have overcome challenges to study at McGill, and they really are deserving.
I’m often asked if I graduated from McGill. My response is always, “No, but they took me anyway!”
