In 1990, Prof. Vikram Bhatt offered me a chance to study at McGill with a full fellowship, the Clifford C.F. Wong Fellowship, that has completely changed my life ever since. At that time, China wasn’t as prosperous as it is today and studying abroad was exceptionally difficult. This generous fellowship not only covered my tuition fees but also provided abundant money for living so that I was able to focus on study rather than surviving. In return for McGill’s help, I choose to do what I can to help the University.

After graduation I worked in Canada for 10 years during which time the alumni from McGill helped me in many ways. In fact my first job offer was from an alumnus, Mr. John Romanov. I am always grateful for those who helped me so I got involved with the alumni community to help others. Along the way I discovered that helping and engaging with other alumni makes me happy and makes my life fulfilled.
