I decided to study at McGill because of the strong biomedical program and the athletic program. As someone interested in both science and soccer, these became major considerations for me. Also, who doesn’t love Montreal!
After visiting the campus, I knew that McGill would be the best choice and, to this day, I always recommend McGill as a great school to pursue undergraduate education.
I met so many exceptional people throughout my four years as a student. Some of them were soccer teammates, other were leaders I met along the way. I am a strong believer that the people you surround yourself with have an impact on you. I was exposed to such amazing people, and they encouraged me to work hard and think globally.
During my time at McGill, I co-founded a national organization called MealCare which decreases food insecurity and food waste by diverting surplus food from businesses to family food banks and homeless shelters. McGill’s entrepreneurial ecosystem allowed us to set up a solid foundation early on. Fast forward a few years and MealCare has now delivered over 60,000 meals in eight cities across Canada.
I remain closely tied with McGill to this day, and frequently meet with mentors such as George Lengvari.
I have learned a lot through my service at McGill such as leadership, communication, community service, and resilience. I have brought these skills in all my future endeavours including as a fellow with the British Council, as a founder with Next36, and as a medical student at the University of Toronto.
McGill pushed me to think big. I aspire to become a physician leader, balancing both clinical medicine with entrepreneurship and venture capital. The skills I have learned at McGill will help me achieve this vision.
