From time to time, we at the Bequests and Planned Gifts office receive word that a late donor has left an unexpected legacy gift to McGill.
It is always sad to learn that McGill has lost a dear graduate, employee, or friend, but it is our privilege to bring their final philanthropic wishes to life. Choosing to leave a legacy gift is a deeply personal act of generosity, and we want to honour each and every person who does so during their lifetime.
Unfortunately, this is not always possible. For every legacy gift that we are aware of, there are three others that come as a complete surprise.
If you have already included McGill in your estate plans, please advise us by completing a Confidential Letter of Intent. Submitting this simple form will ensure your intentions are realized, and allow us to wholeheartedly thank you for your meaningful gift. We will be honoured to do so.
