When I was in CEGEP, I knew people who were already studying at McGill – siblings, friends – and I admired them.  I knew the University had an international reputation, but for me, attending McGill was a reach, an aspiration. It was where I wanted to go and I knew that if I were accepted, it would be the place for me.

Montreal and McGill go hand in hand.”

There’s so much for young people in Montreal: the Old Port, the Jazz Festival, hockey, a vibrant downtown, food and languages. And those things are part of what makes McGill special. Montreal and McGill go hand in hand.

McGill has been like a connective tissue in my life. I met my wife there and many people I’m still close to today. After spending two years in New York working for my father in the apparel industry, I came back to Montreal and sort of fell into what has turned into a wonderful career, working with my wife. I live near downtown and I still enjoy walking through the campus. As a young person, I saw McGill as a sort of be-all and end-all, and as it turns out, for me, that’s been not far from the truth.
