I came to McGill because of its unique law program. I am interested in global problem solving, equity and justice, and I wanted to learn about the common, civil and Indigenous legal traditions.

I am fairly involved at my Faculty via our law journal and volunteering: when I arrived I immediately joined the Muslim Law Students’ Association. As a Muslim it’s important to me that I give back to my various communities; service is a core tenet of my faith.

What stands out about my McGill experience is undoubtably the people. I’ve met wonderful peers and professors who are smart, warm, funny, and curious. I look forward to all our future contributions as jurists and global citizens.

Being in Montreal, Quebec, and McGill, offers me a unique perspective through the richness of the Quebec civil legal tradition, and also a different social and political worldview.
