After graduating with a BA in 1987, I took a year off to write music and play beach volleyball in Southern California. I quickly realized I wasn’t going to earn a living doing either of those things, so I applied to McGill’s Faculty of Law.
Law school taught me how to think and helped me develop the confidence to succeed. But, most of all, it provided me with a community that I didn’t even know I would need. On the first day of my second semester of my second year of law school, my father passed away suddenly. The love and support I got from my classmates and family was overwhelming and got me through my hardest time.
