Both my parents were interned as teens for being Japanese-Canadians during the Second World War. They never finished high school. Growing up in my family, there was a lot of love but not much money. I was determined to get a good education. I worked from the age of 16 whenever I could, using every summer vacation day, to save for school. Thanks to McGill’s incredible scholarship system, I was able to put myself through university. I loved McGill and obtained a DEC+ Bachelor of Science and then two law degrees.
