When I started at McGill, the concept of active learning, or online delivery of courses, was simply not part of our vocabulary as teachers.

After almost 20 years working at McGill, so much has changed and whether through technology-enhanced active learning classrooms, innovative online program delivery, or student-centred pedagogy, we are constantly improving, pushing the envelope, and re-thinking the classroom context.

Yet we do this always with careful attention to the maintenance of academic excellence and rigour. We hold these values strong yet also rethink and reinvent the ways we teach and the ways we design and deliver our programs.

The stage is set for more change, more innovation and continued excellence in our classrooms. We do this because we want to learn and that’s what McGill is about: a community of learning and a community of learners.
