I did not choose McGill; my family has a long legacy of attending McGill. Both my parents went to McGill, as did my three sisters and many aunts, uncles and cousins; my father was a professor at the Faculty of Law for many years. Being a Montreal family, we looked no further than McGill.
McGill gave me an outstanding training to be a lawyer – a career I have found to be challenging, stimulating and rewarding, and during which I have met so many interesting people from all walks of life.
My advice to today’s students: take full advantage of McGill’s many offerings to pave your way through the many years you have ahead of you, and through life’s unexpected twists and turns.
I practiced law for several years before having children, took many years off to be at home with the family, then returned to the practice. I moved from corporate law to estate planning, back to banking and then back to estate planning. McGill prepared me well for this career and life journey.
