In 1965 my parents told me there was no reason for a girl to spend more than four years at university. After one term in Honours Mathematics, I had the confidence to see Professor Derek Drummond in Architecture and ask if I could transfer. He welcomed me to join the school the next year. I have now hired five McGill architect graduates at my firm.
