I spent seven years at McGill – three in the Desautels Faculty of Management and four in the Faculty of Law.

I found the professors to be excellent throughout my studies – they were demanding but very collegial, and the quality of teaching was terrific. They had a very open outlook on the world and encouraged student feedback and questions; this promoted a curiosity in the students that you need to bring into your post-student life. I feel this helped me tremendously in my career, even to this day. What I learned at McGill made a difference in the way I approach questions and problems – basically critical thinking. I am so thankful to McGill for that.

It was amazing to attend such a beautiful campus in the middle of an urban centre. I enjoyed walking around the whole campus – I would go to different libraries to study, and to the student union. At the law faculty, I enjoyed speaking with other law students at the Pit. I could’ve been enjoying coffee in the coffee house, but I didn’t drink it at the time. Today it’s a different story!

Over the years it has been great to share McGill experiences with the people in my life – my wife was a year behind me in the BCom program and we often reminisce about our time there; both our sons graduated from McGill in the last two years and one son is currently in the CPA program.

McGill has always been a part of my life and I don’t see that changing. While I don’t actually have a McGill tattoo, I definitely feel that I have McGill tattooed (metaphorically) on me. I have every confidence that McGill will meet all expectations as it moves into its Third Century. For me, and I think for many others, McGill is a feel-good story in their lives!
