I was a first generation Canadian and I had great friends and teachers during my high school years who convinced me to continue my education. Being the first in my family to ever attend university was a big thing but I did not realize at the time the importance of being accepted to McGill.
I joined the McGill CEGEP Faculty of Engineering program (yes this did exist for a few years while the CEGEPs were being built). Once I was exposed to all of my different classmates and professors, it opened my eyes to so many possibilities that I did not even know were available to me. The world became bigger and less scary.
The Faculty of Management gave me the confidence to do more and this led to obtaining my CPA. In my 40 plus year career in public practice, I was able to take on leadership roles locally and internationally and I believe it was because of the solid foundation I obtained at McGill.
