I was fortunate to be accepted at McGill from CEGEP in 1972, and then lucked into a coveted spot in med school, which transformed me from a teenager into a doctor. Like my friends, I left for Toronto right after graduation. But the attraction of home was strong and I returned to McGill for a couple of years in training as a lung specialist, thinking I would then head off to the States. And yet I stayed. I’ve had the opportunity to be a physician, a scientist, a teacher and a leader. All thanks to McGill.
