As someone who grew up in Montreal, I always dreamed of attending McGill and walking on its beautiful campus. I had my sights set on studying business and I knew that getting a Bachelor of Commerce degree at McGill would set me on my way.
Looking back on my time at McGill, I realize that two things would change my life. The first was an international finance class, where I first learned about derivatives. And the second was a trip to Wall Street to visit Salomon Brothers, which clarified my goal: to become a bond trader at Salomon. This goal would be realized, thanks to my McGill business degree. It put me on a level playing field with all the strong graduates from great schools around the world.
Following an exciting 15-year career on Wall Street, I decided to launch an Executive Coaching and Leadership Development Firm specializing in Financial Services. I also published two business-related books.
I love giving back to McGill. It laid the foundation for a very rewarding career, and I am grateful that my contributions – from a career and leadership perspective – are valued. Anything that I can do to help students find their path is a gift to me too!
